Andrew Lahti-Nuuttila

We have the pleasure of producing Poppea in association with Helsinki Conservatory, giving their students the opportunity to take part in a professional production, and casting them all in supporting solo roles.

Soprano and violinist Tuuli Partanen has a keen interest in Baroque music, and here lends her lovely voice to the second Amore. The ensemble of cupids solemnise the coronation of Poppea in the third act. Tuuli will also dance in the other scenes.

The two tenors, Ilmari Leisma (upleft, photo Heikki Tuuli) and Andrew Lahti-nuuttila, are both products of Cantores Minores boys’ choir. Andrew has been having singing lessons for a year now with Mika Nikander, and Ilmari Leisma studies both voice and trumpet at Helsinki Conservatory. They portray Liberto, the guard who reluctantly announces to Seneca his death sentence, and The Lictor, who is responsible for the arrest of Drusilla and Ottone. They both join the choir of Consuls and Tribunes who praise Poppea at her coronation. #orpheusmuses #poppea#poppeankruunaus #youngtalents #helsinginkonservatorio
