Elli Vallinoja

Mezzo-soprano Elli Vallinoja graduated from the vocal department of the Sibelius Academy, where she studied under the tutelage of Outi Kähkönen and Marjut Hannula. She has since achieved significant competition success, notably in the Lied section of the Erkki Melartin Chamber Music Competition (1st place), at the Kangasniemi Singing Competition (3rd place), and in 2016 a place in the final round of both the Zinka Milanov Competition and the Wilhelm Stenhammar Competition. At the Finnish National Opera Elli given guest performances in Albert Herring (Emmie), Juha (Summer Girl), Die Fledermaus (Ida), The Phantom of the Opera (Meg Giry) and as a soloist in Kirmo Lintinen’s Code to Joy. She has given concert performances at Turku Music Festival, Turku City Theatre, Ilmajoki Music Festival, Mänttä Music Festival, and was a featured young artist at the Lemi Music Festival. Elli has also given numerous choral solo performances, including performances with the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orchestra and Lohja City Orchestra. This spring Elli has performed the role of Ottavia in Il Coronazione di Poppea (Opéra de Lyon), and next season she will give guest performances at the Finnish National Opera’s productions of Madame Butterfly (Kate Pinkerton) and Il Trovatore (Ines).
