Aapo-Tapani Kilpelä

Aapo-Tapani Kilpelä performs the role of Seneca, the philosopher whose suicide marks one of the most striking moments in the opera. The role of the stoical philosopher is perfect for his easy, flowing bass voice and athletic figure. Aapo-Tapani has studied the voice and acquired his technique privately – alongside his profession as a physical-education teacher. The summers he has spent in Savonlinna, both as a member of the choir and as a soloist, have taught him a great deal. In 2016 Aapo-Tapani reached the final of the Kangasniemi Singing Competition.
